Mark your calendars! Lid I-5 is on the move, and our next stop is the vibrant and densely populated neighborhoods of Wallingford and the University District. Join us on Saturday, September 16 to help envision a reconnection between communities that have been divided for over 50 years. Here are the details:
The event is free and open to all, and residents from other neighborhoods are more than welcome to participate. Whether you live, work, shop, or study here, your voice and your ideas are needed! The charrette will identify the fundamental challenges and opportunities of acres of new public land, and how lidding I-5 could leverage the upcoming U District light rail station, expand safe walking and and bicycling routes, and help address the needs for public open space and affordable housing.
Light refreshments will be provided, and alternatives to driving are encouraged. Just click here to register and we’ll keep you updated as we approach the date!
